Protection Amulet ~ “Kila” or “Phurba” is a ritual dagger. This is not like an ordinary weapon, it is not about fighting, batteling, subduing, subjagating or destroying something that we perceive as threatening. This is a ritual implement, a tool for our spiritual development. When we perceive things in our outer environment as harmful, from this spiritual perspective, we recognize that this is a reflection of the negativities, the “demons” or “poisons” within. This is a powerful method of spiritual alchemy in these dark times of great social and political conflict, and environmental destruction, a reflection of our own inner state.

The three sides of the dagger represent the “three root poisons”. The blade comes down to a sharp, piercing point, representing the unyielding, relentless power of one pointed concentration, (meditation) that gives us the energy to root out the inner poisons in our mindstream, transforming them into our path to realization, our inherent nature as enlightened mind. The transmutation of the “root three poisons” are; Anger (hate, pride aversion, fear) into Loving-Kindness and Compassion, Desire (greed, attachment, jealously) into Generosity, non-attachment, and Ignorance or the non-recognition of our own true nature, into Wisdom the recognition of our inherent awakened being, enlightenment.
